Description of the ship

These Imperial units are a direct evolution of the elegant Lambda-class shuttles.

They were developed to land Imperial Storm Troopers directly into battle zones under the protection of their powerful shield generators. After unloading, these shuttles can provide directed fire support. They are equipped with an impressive array of rapid-fire blasters and rocket launchers.

Description of the model

Materials required

Color printer 5 sheets of A4-size card stock (160-170 g/m2)

Scissors, ruler, sharp hobby knife or scalpel

Paper adhesive, if possible with a metal applicator for tight places

For larger parts a glue stick may be suitable


Print the files ILC-1.jpg, ILC-2.jpg, ILC-3.jpg, Display-1.jpg, and Display-2.jpg at the highest resolution your printer supports (the images are 203 DPI). Cut the parts out precisely.

Important: Score all fold lines carefully on the printed side. Use a straight edge and follow the lines exactly. Score lightly if using a knife so as not to excessively weaken the card. These steps are critical for assembly of smaller parts.

Important: Decide before starting which, if any, loading ramps will be extended (right, left, or both). Areas to be removed for the ramps are indicated with a scissors symbol. Parts for the sides are marked R and L where needed; the ramp parts themselves are interchangeable.

Fold the uncolored section of part 1 (the section with three rectangular outlines) against the back of the adjacent colored section of part 1 and glue. (Anleitung-1.gif)

Glue part 2 into the rectangle on part 1. (Anleitung-1.gif)

Cut out the marked areas for ramps if they are to be open. Attach parts 83/90 for the appropriate side(s) to part 1. (Anleitung-1.gif)

Close up and glue part 1, also applying glue to the top of part 2 for added support.

Curve part 3 around a dowel or pencil and glue it to part 1.

Closed Ramps: Curve parts 6 and 7 and glue to part 1. Cut the "teeth" very precisely!

Open Ramps: Curve parts 4 and 5 and glue to part 1. Cut the "teeth" very precisely!

Important: Do not glue the rounded ends of parts 4 and 5 to parts 83/90 yet!

Glue parts 8 and 9 to part 1. Don't forget to score the line across the middle of each part. The pointed section must curve a little; it's best to glue the flat section first, then the curved section.

Curve part 77 and glue parts 80 and 81 to it. Likewise curve part 78 and glue parts 79 and 82 to it.

Curve part 84 and glue parts 87 and 88 to it. Likewise curve part 85 and glue parts 86 and 89 to it.

Important: The larger tabs (marked "unten/below") of parts 79 - 82 and 86 - 89 must be oriented toward the bottom of the model.

Fit and glue these four assemblies to parts 4 and 5, or parts 6 and 7. Careful adjustment is needed to fit the assemblies in their indicated areas. (Anleitung-4.gif)

Open Ramps: Now glue the rounded ends of parts 4 and 5 to parts 83/90.

Glue part 22 to part 1. Glue part 21 to part 1, using a pin or other tool to adjust the fit. (Anleitung-4.gif)

Curve part 10 and glue to part 3 and to part 5 or part 7. Likewise for part 11 to part 3 and part 4 or part 6. (Anleitung-4.gif)

Glue part 29 to part 1 against part 22. Glue parts 32 - 26 over part 21. Glue parts 19 and 20 to part 1 and the sides of part 29.

Now we move to the rear of the model. Using a straight edge and cutting precisely, remove the four small dark grey rectangles (marked with scissors symbols) on part 12 to make slots.

Fold and glue parts 30 and 35 into rectangular boxes. Leave the long white tabs protruding. These long tabs go through the slots in part 12 and are glued flat to the inside. (Anleitung-2.gif)

Remove the white rectangles (marked with scissors symbols) on parts 14 and 15. Curve parts 14 and 15 and glue to part 12, paying attention to the "Front" direction marker on all three parts.

Glue part 13 to part 12 and the ends of parts 14 and 15, being careful to adjust for proper fit! (Anleitung-5.gif)

Curve parts 16, 17, and 18 and glue to part 12.

Rear wings: Place part 92 on a flat, solid surface to prevent warping. Glue part 91 inside part 92 (Anleitung-3.gif), then glue part 92 shut.

Glue part 93 onto part 92.

Important: Pay close attention to the directional arrows, or else part 93 will not fit correctly! Repeat these steps for parts 94, 95, and 96.

Attach parts 32 and 33 to part 30. (Anleitung-5.gif)

Important: Glue only two of the three sides, leaving the top open for now. This forms an open box.

Roll part 31 into a tube and glue.

Important: Curve part 34 and glue one end to part 92 (Anleitung-5.gif). Pay close attention to the direction of the wings!

Put part 34 between parts 32 and 33. Put part 31 into the open sides of parts 32 and 33.

Important: Part 31 must move freely inside parts 32 and 33; do not glue! Close the open sides of parts 32 and 33 and glue to part 30. Glue the loose end of part 34 to part 92. If everything is correct, a freely-moving hinge was formed. Repeat these steps for parts 35-39 and part 95.

Parts 48 and 49 glue to the underside of parts 30 and 35. They act as stops to position the wings at a 45 degree angle. Simply glue the white sides to the middle of parts 30 and 35 with the beveled end outward. (Anleitung-6.gif + Anleitung-7.gif)

Now the drive section connects to the body. Glue part 1 to part 12. On a flat, solid surface, glue part 97 inside part 98. Glue part 98 shut. Glue parts 27, 28, and 98 to the model. (Anleitung-4.gif)

Glue parts 53 and 54 to part 51. Glue part 52 between parts 53 and 54, a paper's thickness from the tops of parts 53 and 54. (Anleitung-3.gif) Curve part 50 and glue to part 51 over part 52. Glue part 51 to the white lower surface of part 83/90. Pay attention to the correct direction of part 51! (Anleitung-7.gif)

Likewise assemble parts 55 - 59 if needed.

Now add part 76.

If the model is to be displayed in flight configuration, build up part 99.

Landing Gear (Landed Configuration)

Fold over and glue part 61. Glue part 63 to part 61. Glue together part 62. Glue the grey/white end of part 62 to part 63. Likewise for parts 65,66,67 + 69,70,71 + 73,74,75.

Fold the outermost sections of parts 60, 64, 68, and 70 under and glue. Glue these parts over the printed landing gear bay doors where indicated on the bottom of part 1.

Important: These parts fit correctly in only one way. The white triangle on each part must point outward to the right or left, and the bay doors should match the orientation of the doors printed on part 1. (Anleitung-7.gif)

Glue parts 62, 66, 70, and 74 to parts 60, 64, 68, and 72 respectively.

Glue parts 101, 102, and 103 to the back of part 100 for support. Glue the corners of part 100 shut. Fold the white edge tabs under and glue to the back for reinforcement.

Glue parts 40 and 41 together into an L-shaped box. Likewise for parts 42 and 43, 44 and 45, 46 and 47.

Important: These parts are used only to help hold the wings in an even position, and are not glued in place.

With that, your Imperial Lander is finished!
